MP urges constituents to have their say on fireworks in Scotland

Stewart McDonald, MP for Glasgow South, has asked constituents to share their views and experiences in the Scottish Government's consultation on the use and regulation of fireworks in Scotland.

While much of the current legislation on fireworks is reserved to Westminster the consultation will help to identify gaps, issues or unintended consequences with the current regulatory framework.

Stewart McDonald said:

"Fireworks as part of festivities and celebrations can be important to communities across Scotland, but they can also cause unnecessary harm and distress if not used properly.

"I would urge constituents to share their views on whether the regulations on how fireworks are used needs to be improved."

The consultation can be found here.
