policescotland

Stewart McDonald MP and local police met today to discuss anti-social behaviour at the new Cowglen estate, and agreed to work together to tackle the issue.

The meeting occurred following contact from local constituents who were concerned about anti-social behaviour at the new Cowglen estate.

Anti-social behaviour has been reported in the pathway that links the estate to Silverburn shopping centre, which also connects to the wider Carnwadric and Kennishead areas of the Glasgow South constituency.

The MP is also due to meet with managers of Silverburn shopping centre, who own the lane, to discuss the issue further.

Commenting, Stewart McDonald said:

"The anti-social behaviour at the new Cowglen estate has become a growing concern for many of my constituents, which is deeply troubling.

"I am very pleased to have met with the police to discuss the anti-social problems, and that we are both in agreement that this issue needs to be addressed.

"We will both be meeting with various stakeholders who may be involved, and I look forward to coming up with a solution to ensure the anti-social behaviour is brought to an end."
