House of Commons praises Castleton Primary and backs supermarket campaign

Members of the House of Commons have congratulated pupils at Castleton Primary for winning an award for their film "It's Just Not Fair" at Glasgow's Improvement Challenge film festival, and also backing the campaign for a supermarket in Castlemilk.

Pupils at Castleton primary in Castlemilk made a documentary to highlight the lack of facilities in their area with their film - titled "It's Just Not Fair" - explaining the barriers local residents face in accessing their nearest big store.

Stewart McDonald, MP for Glasgow South, who tabled the motion, said:

"i'm delighted to table this Early Day Motion in Parliament recognising Castleton Primary and the efforts of the supermarket for Castlemilk campaign.

"It was great to join the kids at Castleton Primary this week to watch their campaign documentary about the need for a supermarket in Castlemilk - what a brilliant and engaged group of youngsters.

"I am very supportive of the efforts of the kids and Castlemilk Community and Business Association to secure a supermarket in this area of my constituency which currently does not have any."
