EU citizens in Glasgow South urged to apply for settlement scheme

EU citizens living in Glasgow South are being reminded to apply for the EU Settlement Scheme before the 30th June deadline.

The scheme processes the applications EU citizens currently living in the UK, allowing them to remain in the UK after Brexit with successful applicants given either settled or pre-settled status.

Any EU citizen doesn't apply by this deadline risks losing the rights they currently have to live, study and work in the UK.

Glasgow South MP Stewart McDonald MP said:

"I urge all of our EU friends and neighbours living in the Southside to ensure they have applied to the EU Settlement Scheme before the June 30th deadline.

"I still believe EU citizens in Scotland should not need to apply to protect the rights they already have here, but nevertheless there is a requirement to apply to the UK Government’s EU Settlement Scheme.

"I want EU citizens in Glasgow South to know - Scotland is your home, you are welcome here, we want you to stay."
