An SNP MP has praised a local charity after they received £75,000 worth of funding from Big Lottery Fund.

Stewart McDonald, MP for Glasgow South, praised the Carnwadric WIN project on the funding they have received from Big Lottery Fund Scotland.

Carnwadric WIN project will use the funding to deliver a programme of support to the families in Arden, Carnwadric, Kennishead and Regents Park. Working with around 160 people made up from a mixture of families, individuals and up to 20 volunteers the group will offer a range activities including intensive family support, drama groups for families, conversation level ESOL sessions, support groups for a range of additional support needs for both adults and children, and mother and toddler groups.

Commenting, Stewart McDonald said:

“I was delighted to hear the Carnwadric WIN project were successful in receiving a bumper grant from the Lottery, and were one of only a handful of groups across the whole of Scotland.

“The project provides vital services for the local community, and will bring local people together and help people learn.

“I congratulate the group on their funding, wish them every success with their project and I extend my thanks to Big Lottery Fund Scotland for recognising the valuable contribution they make to the Southside of Glasgow. The group has done itself and Glasgow South proud."
