The Importance of Childrens Early Years nutrition - the Eat.Play.Love campaign

The Scottish Government continues to prioritise child nutrition and the SNP will always advocate the importance of early-years education for children across Scotland.

The Scottish Parliament is currently progressing its “Good Food Nation bill” through the Scottish Parliament, which will ensure Scottish Ministers and a range of public bodies produce good food nation plans to support social and economic wellbeing, the environment, health and economic development.

These plans will govern how public bodies intend to make good quality food available to all how use their services, including in schools and hospitals.

The Bill will support wide ranging good food education to give schoolchildren the skills they need to prepare healthy, nutritious, and tasty food.

It is part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to ensure all children in Scotland are as well-equipped as possible to make good choices in their food intake and are able to access good quality food at home, at work, and from public kitchens.
