My SNP colleague, Alan Brown MP, leading for the party in the debate explicitly raised the issue of the revenue cap disproportionately hitting renewables: “Unless the detail of the cap revenue mechanism is examined properly, there is a risk that future investment in renewables will be put in jeopardy”. It is a shame that, with the entirety of the year to prepare for fuel prices, the UK Government chose to rush through legislation in a single day, with eye-raising oversights. This is typical of a Tory party that has had its internal divisions dictate the direction of the country for the last twelve years – leaving our country in terrible shape.
