Exempt co-operatively owned wind farms in the Electricity Prices Bill

My SNP colleague, Alan Brown MP, leading for the party in the debate explicitly raised the issue of the revenue cap disproportionately hitting renewables: “Unless the detail of the cap revenue mechanism is examined properly, there is a risk that future investment in renewables will be put in jeopardy”. I think that your situation is an exemplar of that.

Unfortunately the amendment was not moved at the time, so I was not able to vote on it.

It is a shame that, with the entirety of the year to prepare for fuel prices, the UK Government chose to rush through legislation in a single day, with eye-raising oversights. This is typical of a Tory party that has had its internal divisions dictate the direction of the country for the last twelve years – leaving our country in terrible shape.
