Stewart McDonald MP called on the UK Government to scrap the settled status fee being put upon EU citizens as a result of Brexit.
During the latest Brexit statement from Prime Minister Theresa May, Stewart McDonald MP criticised the decision to charge over three million EU nationals £70 to settle their status post-Brexit.
Stewart McDonald MP today confirmed he would be voting against triggering Artcile 50, and criticised Downing Street for their attempts to to keep parliament from voting on the matter, saying it does nothing to help challenge the "poison political cynicism that is eating away at liberal democracy".
Stewart McDonald MP has said the Brexit means Brexit slogan may have seen the UK Government through the summer but now they must provide greater clarity, or they risk alienating and dividing the public.
Stewart McDonald MP criticised leading Brexit campaigners for their actions after the vote to leave EU, and said Scotland should not bear the brunt of this decision.
