Stewart McDonald MP called on the UK Government to scrap the settled status fee being put upon EU citizens as a result of Brexit.
Following the UK's departure from the EU, EU citizens will have to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021.
The fee to apply will be £65 if you’re 16 or over and £32.50 if you’re under 16.
Stewart McDonald said:
"Having excluded EU nationals in the UK from the referendum, it simply offends natural justice that they are being made to pay for residency and rights they already enjoy. This is a targeted Tory tax on foreigners and it should be scrapped right now."
