Stewart McDonald MP, for Glasgow South, praised Castlemilk employer, Castle Precision Engineering, after the company secured a multi-million pound contract with Rolls-Royce.
The contracts secured thanks to Sharing in Growth include a £80 million six-year deal between Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace and Glasgow-based Castle Precision Engineering.
Castle Precision Engineering has been a significant employer in Castlemilk for over 60 years, employing 120 people and manufacture high precision critical gas turbine components for the aero-engine industry as well as complex prismatic parts for the defence industry.
Stewart McDonald said;
"This is a fantastic boost for Castlemilk and I am delighted with Castle’s success. Their sales have risen from £15 million in 2016 to £25 million this year.
"I want to thank Sharing in Growth for helping secure this deal, and for being a big supporter in Castlemilk over past few years, as well as have Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Enterprise.
"This funding allows Castle Precision Engineering to reinvest in people, technology and growth so that they win even more business, which will contribute to growth in the local area.”
