Stewart McDonald MP has thrown his support behind Avenue 77 to win in this year’s Great British High Street Awards – following the news that they have been shortlisted for the Champion Award.
With public voting open now, Stewart McDonald MO is encouraging all local residents to give their backing to Avenue 77.
Winners will be named in each of the four UK nations and are eligible to win up to £15,000 to spend on their community.
Stewart McDonald said: “We are lucky in Glasgow South to have such a fantastic street as Avenue 77.
“It’s the lifeblood of the local community and we all rightly want to see that recognised, along with all the traders and workers who work so hard to make it what it is.
“I want to wish Avenue the very best of luck and I know the entirety of Glasgow South will be right behind them. Join me in voting now!”
The winners will be decided through a combination of judges scores and public voting, and independent judges will be visiting shortlisted high streets over the next month.
Voting will run until 31st October with winners announced at a ceremony in London in November.
To vote, and support Avenue 77 all you have to do is post #GBHSGLSGO alongside #MYHIGHSTREET on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
