The plans to close half of Glasgow's jobcentres is morally outrageous. It will result in some of the poorest communities being hit and make it even harder for those seeking
employment to get support. Thousands of people will also have to travel further
at additional cost to attend their appointments.
The DWP has finally relented and agreed to publish a public consultation on its website for some of the closures, but it is vital that all the sites marked for closure are included in the consultation.
In order to ensure we get a full range of views, I have compiled a short survey for Castlemilk and Langside jobcentres based on the consultation questionnaire, and I shall submit the answers to the DWP in response to planned jobcentre closures.
