Big Lottery wins for Glasgow South

Glasgow South's MP, Stewart McDonald, has praised two local charities after they received nearly £250,000 worth of funding from Big Lottery Fund.

Home-Start Glasgow South develop their activities which focus on supporting Fathers living in South Glasgow, and Pollokshaws Area Trust will use the funding to bring the community together through a variety of activities to build capacity, develop new skills, and improve health and wellbeing.

Commenting, Stewart McDonald said:

“I was delighted to hear Home-Start Glasgow South and Pollokshaws Area Trust were successful in receiving a bumper grant from the Lottery, and were from only a handful of groups across the whole of Scotland.

“These projects provide vital services for the local community and will bring local people together, help people learn, and get people more active.

“I congratulate each group on their funding, wish them every success with their project and I extend my thanks to Big Lottery Fund Scotland for recognising the valuable contribution they make to the Southside of Glasgow. All these groups have done themselves and Glasgow South proud."
